  • The Transmission School Volterra, Tuscany, 56048 Italy (map)

Learn the pottery wheel technique to create beautiful tea cups on the wheel.

For beginners, creatives, and all who long to slow down reconnect.

In the golden hills of Tuscany, where time seems to soften and the earth whispers ancient wisdom, join us for a soulful three-day retreat to reconnect with the nature, nourish your spirit, and create beauiful tea cups on the wheel.

Rooted in the earth element, this intimate retreat blends the meditative art of pottery wheel techniques with gentle yoga, yoga nidra, and restorative time in nature. Whether you're a curious beginner or a potter , this is a space to slow down, center yourself, and be guided through the full journey of creating your own ceramic teacups and saucers — from clay preparation to glazing and firing.

Each day begins with gentle yoga and ends with evening yoga nidra, grounding your body and soothing your nervous system.

Mornings are dedicated to centering on the wheel and shaping your pieces with intention. Afternoons invite you to savor fresh, home-grown Tuscan meals, wander the idyllic countryside, and find joy in simple pleasures.

🕊 Hosted by Elizabeth Evans, From @earthtostars.studio in Trentino.

Hi, I’m Elizabeth Evans. I’m a ceramic artist from Wales, now living in the mountains of Trentino with my two children and two cats. I studied art and got my BA Hons at Wolverhampton University.

Pottery has always been something special to me — not just a creative outlet, but a way of slowing down, getting quiet, and connecting with the earth. I feel really lucky to now share that with others, both in my studio and through retreats like this one.

In a world that moves so fast and asks so much of us, working with clay is one of those rare things that helps us come back to ourselves. It’s grounding, meditative, and full of quiet wisdom. I believe clay holds memory — of landscapes, of time, of all that came before us. When we work with it mindfully, something deep opens up. It’s as if we tap into a rhythm much older than our own.

The studio, to me, isn’t just a place to make pots. It’s a space to rest, to explore, to reconnect. It’s a place to remember what really matters — stillness, presence, creativity, connection.

I feel incredibly grateful to be able to hold this space for others, and to share the beauty and depth of this practice. It feels like my dharma — my purpose — and I’m honoured to walk this path with those who feel called to join.
